Esteemed coach Frank Moro got to witness his altruistic efforts in resurrecting the South City football program come full circle Friday night.
 
The Warriors (7-0 PAL Lake, 8-1 overall) rallied to a 44-0 victory on their home field over Monta Vista-Cupertino, a big win in what was Moro’s final regular-season home game.
 
South City football coach Frank Moro, who not only resurrected the school’s football program last season but set the varsity team on a winning trajectory in short order, coached his final regular-season game at home Friday night. Moro graduated from South City in 1982 and started as an assistant coach there in the 1980s. He served two stints as varsity head coach, first from 2003-13, and again in 2022. He served as an assistant coach in this his final season on head coach Kolone Pua’s staff.
