SSFUSD Statement on Secure Campus Status at South San Francisco High

Dear South San Francisco High School Community,

South San Francisco High School was placed on secure campus status this afternoon. This means that doors were closed/locked, and entering and exiting campus was temporarily restricted. However, students and staff were NOT under a full lockdown protocol, as there was no immediate threat to our school community.

Out of an abundance of caution, this action was taken in response to a South San Francisco Police Department report of an alleged student wellness concern on campus. The matter has been investigated, and the campus has been deemed safe and has returned to normal operations.

All students and staff are safe and were not in any immediate danger.

We realize that this matter has delayed students from being released from school at the regularly scheduled time, and we thank you for your understanding as we continue to ensure the safety of our students and staff as our highest priority.
