Get to Know South San Francisco High School

Choosing a high school is an important decision, and we invite students and families to experience everything South San Francisco High School has to offer. As a comprehensive high school, South City High prepares students for success in college, career, and beyond through rigorous academics, extracurricular opportunities, and a supportive school community.

SSFHS offers a strong college-preparatory program, including honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses that support students in completing A–G requirements for UC and CSU admission.

Shadow Program for Incoming 8th Graders

The Shadow Program gives eighth-grade students an opportunity to experience a typical day at South City High by spending the morning with a current SSFHS student.

What to Expect:

  • Shadow a current student during first, second, and third periods

  • Participate in a guided campus tour during fourth period

  • Optional lunch experience on campus

Schedule:

  • Shadow Day: 8:10 AM – 11:35 AM

  • With lunch: Until 12:15 PM

How to Participate:

  1. Complete the Shadow Program sign-up form

  2. Bring the confirmation email with you on the day of your visit

8th Grade Parent Night

8th Grade Parent Night is designed to help families learn more about the academic programs, student supports, and extracurricular opportunities available at South San Francisco High School.

Highlights Include:

  • Welcome and overview from the Principal and school leadership

  • Meet administrators, counselors, teachers, and student leaders

  • Campus tours and program information

  • Learn about athletics, clubs, and student activities
